T-Mobile Announces the LG G-Slate with 3D Video Recording Capability for $529.99

Since video tends to a better job of showing off a product than press photos or computer renderings, check out LG Girl’s demo of the new LG G-Slate coming to T-Mobile. The device runs Android Honeycomb and sports a Tegra 2 processor, 5MP 3D / HD rear camera, front-facing camera, 32GB of storage, Wi-Fi / 4G connectivity, and a 8.9-inch display. LG Girl says it weighs about 1.5lbs, which isn’t too bad — but it’s definitely heavier than the XOOM or iPad 2. T-Mobile will sell the LG G-Slate for $529.99 after $100 mail-in-rebate card with a two-year contract and a qualifying mobile broadband plan. Are you in? Aside: It’s hard to believe one actually needs to wear a pair 3D glasses to view the 3D video you just recorded. LG’s Optimus 3D smartphone is able to provide 3D playback glasses-free.
