Giada Ultra MiniPC DN2301 Brings the Power of Intel Core i5 to the Living Room

If you haven’t been satisfied with the current crop of Intel Atom-based nettop HTPCs, have a look at the $675 Giada Ultra MiniPC DN2301. It sports an Intel Core i5 dual-core (4 threads) CULV processor, 2GB of RAM, 500GB of storage, NVIDIA ION graphics, Dual-Layer DVD+/-RW (Blu-ray option available), Wi-Fi, HDMI, eSATA, USB 3.0, and a pre-installed copy of Windows 7 Home Premium. PC Magazine is disappointed that it doesn’t include a TV tuner or wireless keyboard as part of the package, though it does come bundled with a typical Windows Media Center style remote. All in all, it’s not a bad choice when sized up against the competition of small form factor PCs. Thinking some will prefer this over Dell’s Inspiron Zino HD or Apple’s latest Mac mini for the living room. By the way… if you really need TV tuner support, pick up a Windows compatible networked TV tuner like Silicon Dust’s HDHomeRunFull review at PC Magazine. [via]
