PLEX Media Server Spreads Its Wings to Windows and Android
Everyone’s favorite XBMC spin-off for Mac OS X and iOS, PLEX, has spread it’s wings to Windows and Android. PLEX is announcing that PLEX Media Server for Windows XP/7 (FREE) and PLEX for Android ($4.99) is now available for download. It’s unclear how deep the Windows integration goes in PLEX’s media manager application — being that PLEX Media Server on Mac OS X can pull in data from iTunes and iPhoto — or if it will support all the same plugins available to the Mac OS X version, which are many. FYI, PLEX Media Server on Mac OS X or Windows can power PLEX mobile clients on iOS or Android and soon on LG’s line of Smart TV products.
