Looks like the sub-$100 Roku Player is no joke for cable TV providers. Roku is announcing that they have just hit their billionth stream just after selling their millionth unit this past year (similar Apple presser to follow, no doubt). According to Anthony Wood, founder and CEO of Roku, Roku’s active user base is now on par with that of a top 10 U.S. cable company. That’s pretty impressive — especially when you take into account that all these users are consuming an average of 11 hours of content per week (the national average is 36 hours per week).
