iPad-friendly iXtreamer Networked Media Player Now on Sale

Got an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch and are considering buying a new Apple TV? Stop and have a look at Xtreamer’s latest offering, the $226 iXtreamer networked media player. The device features an integrated dock, with charging capability, for your iDevices that will allow you to play your stored media (app support is planned) on your TV. However, if you don’t own any iDevices, the iXtreamer is still a desirable set-top to own — if you’re technically adept and don’t mind skirting the law by streaming content from sources supplying pirated TV and movie content (you won’t find Hulu Plus or Netflix here). Of course, you can always stick to your own collection of media stored on your Linux / Mac / Windows PC or NAS, which the device can access over the network via UPnP or playback locally via USB or its internal 3.5-inch hard drive. iXtreamer supports HD MKV files, Blu-ray ISO rips, DTS MA and Dolby TrueHD with 7.1 channel audio, and more (full specs). An optional 802.11n Wi-Fi adapter and passive cooling kit are also available. Oh, and iXtreamer is compatible with Logitech’s line of Harmony remotes.
