Add Super-strength Wi-Fi Connectivity and Speed to Your PC or Networked Device with the Janus WLAN USB Adapter

I was thumbing through the latest issue of Linux Format and came across a positive review (here’s another) of HornetTek’s Janus WLAN USB adapter (HT-H10DN), which features 802.11n Wi-Fi and 2×2 MIMO technology that promises a significant boost in data transfer rates and signal distance. Then I got to thinking… this might be nice addition to an HTPC or Linux-based media streamer that has been placed some distance away from a wireless router and is suffering from constant HD video playback buffering (most likely due to a device’s inadequate built-in Wi-Fi antenna or wireless USB dongle). The adapter includes drivers for Windows, Mac, and Linux. However, if you’re Linux PC distribution or device is currently sporting a v2.6.6+ kernel, no driver install is required before connecting the adapter to an available USB 2.0 port. Street price: $30 – $45 (note: you may also find this product under the Premiertek brand).
