Ceton InfiniTV 4 Network CableCARD Tuner Sharing is Working and on Its Way

The guys at DMZ are reporting that they have successfully bridged their Ceton InfiniTV 4 tuner with a secondary networked PC over Ethernet (related coverage). They claim the process is straightforward and only requires the latest Ceton firmware — which they got their hands on by being official Ceton Beta testers — for the server PC. The secondary PC, they say, just goes through the standard guided setup process for configuring a new TV tuner. Quality-wise, they were able to watch HD television “immediately” and “without any noticeable lag from the streams being broadcast across [the] network.” No exact time frame on the public release of the Ceton firmware, but they believe it will be soon.
