Philips GoGear Connect Android-powered PMP to Debut at IFA 2010

Looks like Philips has an iPod touch competitor of their own coming out (Samsung may as well). The company has just confirmed that they will be introducing the Philips GoGear Connect at IFA next week. The portable media player (PMP) will offer a 3.2-inch touchscreen (480×320), access to Android Market, surround sound audio provided by Philips’ FullSound technology, a built-in camera for snapshots, MicroSD card slot for expanded storage, support for up to 720p video clips, Bluetooth wireless PC syncing, GPS, compass, Wi-Fi, and sport Android 2.1 at launch. MSRP is €249 (about $315) for the 16GB model, which will begin shipping this October. Lets hope Philips doesn’t make the same mistake as Apple and not include microphone support for voice recording and VoIP calls. [via]
