Sony Dash Update Brings SHOUTcast, App Shortcuts, Improved App Delete Functionality

Nice to see Sony still taking its Dash Personal Internet Viewer product seriously. The company has released a new update that brings some welcomed new features. If you’re a fan of the SHOUTcast Internet radio directory (like me), you’ll be pleased to learn that the service has been added to the available apps. What’s more, users can tune in to their favorite station when the alarm clock goes off. The complete description of new features is attached below thanks to Sony Dash’s Facebook Page.

The latest Dash update is available today!

Sony Dash fans, we wanted you to be the first to know that the latest Dash update is available for you today! It includes the following features:

  • Shoutcast has been added as an available Internet Radio service. You can also wake up to your favorite Shoutcast station, if you set it as your alarm (just like with other internet radio and video services).
  • We’ve added a shortcut to easily access any app in your channel. A new icon on the Command Bar will bring up a gallery of app thumbnails in your channel. Touch the app you want and your dash will skip to it.
  • When you add or delete an app in your channel, these changes will appear much faster on your Dash.

To get these latest features all you have to do is restart your Dash by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
