ASUS Reveals Its One-Two Windows 7 Tablet Punch at Computex 2010

ASUS at Computex in Taipei has unveiled two new tablets that may get Windows 7 tablet naysers an opportunity to reconsider. The 12-inch Eee Pad (EP121) is a tablet / netbook via a foldable keyboard dock. It runs Windows 7 Home Premium and leverages Intel’s CULV Core 2 Duo processor. Personally, this form factor appeals to me and probably as well to all those who think Clamcase for the iPad is a neat idea. The other tablet ASUS showed off is a 10-inch tablet (EP101TC) powered by Windows Embedded Compact 7 and boasts a battery life of 10 hours thanks to its NVIDIA Tegra processor (supposedly the Intel CULV Core 2 Duo is capable of lasting 10 hours as well — we’ll see). Both tablets shown at Computex are early production models, but the tablet interface demo shown on the Windows Embedded model is very Android-esque (in a good way). Price range of the Eee Pads will be around $399 to $499 and will hit store shelves in Q1 2011.
