Verismo VuNow PoD Gets a Launch Date of December 15

This is exciting news! The Verismo VuNow PoD that we got a glimpse of back in June is really coming to market. The product seems to include everything that was mentioned in the video demo except for dedicated access to Hulu and Amazon Unbox/VoD (my guess it’s coming down the pike in the near future). However, what you will get on December 15th is still very impressive:

  • Owners will get full access to YouTube’s video library (including its category selections)
  • Video search of over 1000+ websites (powered by vtap)
  • Premium movie downloads from CinemaNow and other international sites
  • Ability to access your PC & NAS server’s media, as well as content stored on a USB storage device
  • BitTorrent download support (requires an external USB storage device)
  • Pre-packaged TV channels (music, news, sports, special interests, and more) from around the world

In regards to the hardware, I noticed that two models will be available; one with HDMI (aka HD Only) and the other with S-Video (aka SD Only). Both include an Ethernet port, A/V out port (includes RCA cable), and two USB 2.0 ports. Neither model has built-in wireless, but people can pick up a separate USB 802.11g adapter from the company.
