Intelliremote iPhone Client Released – Controls Any Windows PC Application Wirelessly

Yup, you read right. Melloware has created an iPhone client for their PC Intelliremote Server application that allows users to control just about any PC application (i.e. Windows Media Center, XBMC, SageTV, etc.) without line-of-sight. Of course, this is accomplished by iPhone and iPod Touch’s ability to network with a PC via TCP/IP socket communication over Wi-Fi. To get things going, users must download/install a copy of Intelliremote for their PC ($24), pick up the Intelliremote iPhone client from Apple’s App Store (FREE), and then point the client to the correct IP address and port configured by the server software. Note: Intelliremote provides 56 button actions, including the 48 standard MCE remote functions. [via]

    Kick ass find.
Just in the process of building our new house and looking for a APP just like this for the iPhone.

Thanks so much, cant wait to try it out.
Hope there isnt too much lag :)

  2. Brian says:

Can’t find the app anywhere on the iTunes App store.

  3. Yeah… I think I read on Ian Dixon’s blog that the app is still waiting for approval — should be up soon.

  4. Mark says:

I think this is a cool product, but why are so many of these remote control apps targeted for Windows/Mac and some of the high-end AV integrator companies such as Crestron or AMX? What about the Linux market (e.g. XBMC)

  5. @Mark – You might by interested in the open source iPhone app, MyMote, for MythTV control.

  6. MitchSchaft says:

Intelliremote was first made to solve the author’s issue with Creative’s remote a couple/few years ago. The iPhone part is the latest addition.
I can vouch for Intelliremote. I’ve been using it with MCE2005 to remap some buttons. I like it a lot.

  7. Melloware says:

That is correct. I am just waiting on Big Brother Apple to approve the app. It passed “Review” but now it is in the “Ready” stage which they say can take 24 to 48 hours to show up on AppStore.

  8. Melloware says:

Intelliphone is finally released! Look in the Appstore under Melloware or Intelliremote to find it.
